Birmingham 2018

Improving surgical care on a global stage

Over the coming years the NIHR Global Surgery Unit will develop independent, sustainable surgical research hubs across Africa, Asia and the Americas.

At ACPGBI we will enjoy presentations from surgeons from eight Low Middle Income countries (session on Global surgery on Wednesday 11 July, 14:25-16:00). They will discuss surgical research priorities in their country settings. This session GlobalSurg will also introduce our emerging research on global perioperative care and the new wound infection trial (FALCON).

At present GlobalSurg network encompasses over 100 countries and 5000 clinicians. We welcome new collaborators within and outside the UK and we look forward to seeing you in the session.
